Yet another so-called ‘promising’ young rugby player walks free from a N.Z Court

At the back end of last year yet another young rugby thug walked free from a New Zealand Court after pleading guilty to assault.
Those familiar with the board-game Cluedo will solve this particular riddle quickly…
Rugby player
In the pub
Drunk late at night
In a fight
Tyrel Lomax is on the books of The Brumbies.

Seriously I don’t know why the N.Z Police bother to prosecute high profile rugby players given the Courts propensity to allow the guilty party to walk all-but free, time after time.
Discharged without conviction for assault.
It’s a waste of taxpayers money even charging them given they seemingly never get jail time, their societal standing protects them.
Search ‘One Rule for Rugby Players’ on this site for more examples of how the ‘O.J Simpson' Justice System works in New Zealand.

Ex Junior All Black and partner defraud IRD of close to a million

Former Junior All Black and Waikato lock John Williams and his partner, have admitted  charges relating to tax, GST and PAYE evasion by their company Stewart Drake International Ltd.

The company/couple ran the bar, JJ's @ On Tap in Taupo.

Stewart Drake International Ltd was put into liquidation in September last year.

Their offending stretched from April 1, 2008, to November 30, 2014, and totalled a hefty $911,311, inclusive of penalties.

Sentencing will be next month and a stretch in jail is not out of the question.

Promising young Plumber escapes conviction over Bar Assault

A promising young plumber with a "glittering career" ahead of him has avoided a conviction for punching a man who was at a bar with the tradesman ex-girlfriend.

In summing up the case the judge suggested “The information which is before me suggests that you have every opportunity to pursue a productive career, may-be even rising to owning your own plumbing and electrical contracting business if your development continues."

No not really.

A plumber facing an identical situation would in all likelihood face a fine or imprisonment.

Unlike Teariki Ben-Nicholas a plumber, government clerk, courier driver, panel-beater etc can’t possibly have ‘a glittering career’ in New Zealand.

These people never, ever travel overseas on their OE, work etc.

Just rugby players.

The Justice system in New Zealand is once again made to look on par with a Latin American Banana Republic.

No kidding a top N.Z rugby player assaults a bird in a bar?

ONE: Ex pro N.Z Rugby Player in a bar late at night
PLUS ONE: Getting absolutely blotto
EQUALS: The inability to conduct oneself civilly, nor with respect for others – the later coming as a God-given right of being a top rugby player in N.Z.

It appears not even your team mates ‘mrs’ is off limits.
The female clients of Peter Mirrieless now need to decide whether to take their business elsewhere.
Deliver him the result he deserves.
I was also going to suggest his [unnamed] rugby club boot him out.
But that would be unthinkable.
This is New Zealand where's there's no real issue.
Which is what most drunks say.
The drunk man of N.Z sport being the NZRFU.

Former Auckland Blues boss Peter Scutts found guilty after Serious Fraud Office investigation

In a case brought by the Serious Fraud Office, Scutts was in May found guilty of 16 charges of dishonestly using a document and one Secret Commission Act charge of receiving secret reward for procuring contracts in his former role as New Zealand Wine Company chief executive.

Scutts is the former boss of the Auckland Blues rugby franchise and naturally came to Court armed with the mandatory references as to his glowing character from the likes of Graham Henry.

It wasn’t enough for him though, crouching low in the dock to hide as the guilty verdict was delivered.

As reported in the NBR Justice Mary Peters says she is satisfied Scutts lied in his interview with the SFO when he denied handwriting on particular invoices was his. He told the SFO his son Oliver had prepared particular invoices, not him.

Seems like the perfect character to be running a Super Rugby franchise.

Rugby Officials Powerless to stop side-line abuse and thuggery

An isolated incident: my arse

A teenage boy who was injured in an out-of-control hockey match brawl has been discharged from hospital.

Two weeks ago, and 11-year-old boy allegedly punched a referee after tackling him to the ground during an under-12 soccer game in Papatoetoe.

In Christchurch drink driving rugby league players and supporters will be targeted in a major police campaign from next week.

Incidents in Otago Cricket have included parents and spectators on the sidelines abusing players, coaches and referees and also players making racial taunts to the opposition during the game.

Racial taunts and violent threats have reduced foreign players to tears after games, a Canterbury Basketball manager says.

Only none of the above happened over the last two months.

Well not in the sports mentioned.

Instead everyone of these stories involved New Zealand Rugby.

Where you see say Cricket etc, replace with rugby.

When you see headings like 'Two of the city's Catholic Colleges are embroiled in accusations of racial abuse on the  field' what is the first sport that springs to mind?

And the response from Rugby officials to the 40 person mass brawl that broke out during an under-15 clash between Otahuhu College and Tangaroa  this weekend?

Former All Black captain, Auckland Rugby Chief Executive and Lead Apologist Andy Dalton stated 'It's a societal problem' and unbelievably ‘It’s an isolated Incident’.

An isolated incident: my arse.
