Rugby Mentality Divides South Island Township

The Kurow rugby community is apparently 'devastated'' by the crash that occurred after drunken members went on ‘the ran tan’ after pissing up at their clubrooms.

Cue ‘Yeah Right’ meme.

The drunk idiot driver at the wheel that night, ex North Otago rep Regan Laughton, crashed the vehicle resulting in the death of Jarrad Blackler (23) and injuries to all his fellow rugby-club passengers. One of which was in hospital for 10 weeks.

Kevin Malcolm the coach of the Kurow Rugby Club throws at us that old-standard (quote) ''Somehow we need to find a way to make community changes to prevent this from happening again, because it is a community thing.''

No admission from Malcolm that the club could have prevented an intoxicated driver to get behind the wheel with five passengers after pissing-up at their clubrooms.

No talk of a club policy that involves a nominated sober driver.

The booze in part came from his premises.

The family, supporters of the victim are up against this ingrained small town ‘rugby’ mentality.

This after-all is the township that is raising funds to build a statue of Richie McCaw.

Does anyone think tragedies like this are merely the collateral for living a rural lifestyle?

Remind me – it’s 1916, eh?

The fact the seemingly unrepentant Laugthon escaped a jail term is another issue that sticks in one’s craw.

As does the matter of this rugby club still being able to sell alcohol.

Same with 'the local' that tanked-up 'the tanked-up' waved them goodnight.

If the Kurow community really cared, they would now be building a statue to Jarrad Blackler and not McCaw.

So this young-man didn’t die in vain and this could be a fitting permanent memorial of the folly of drink-driving.

Looking after your mates.

Fat chance.

This is rugby heartland.

N.Z Rugby has normalised abnormal behaviour

What a joke.

A token panel to review toxic rugby culture.

A dead cert is the major conclusion to come from this farce will be a lack of women in positions of power.

Like that will stop street thuggery at one o’clock on a Sunday morning.

Why is this review even necessary when the N.Z public has been told consistently the off-field actions of N.Z Rugby players are merely representative of society as a whole?

That’s to say other males this age get-up-to exactly the same criminal activities as professional rugby players.

The thinly veiled insinuation from rugby apologists, tabloid journalists at the likes of the N.Z Herald, is our cricket and soccer professionals etc. conduct themselves in exactly the same fashion as rugby players.

We have been fed the line that what rugby players get up-to in terms of drunken violence, sexual abuse etc. is a microcosm of life in New Zealand.

Only it isn’t.

That’s why no other sport deems it necessary to have a similar review.

N.Z Rugby has normalised abnormal behaviour to the point any conclusions made by this panel will be symbolic at best.

Mark my words this blog will be as busy as normal: review or no review.

Girl Basher ‘Big Man’ Losi Filipo sentenced to supervision

Another ‘Great Out Jail Free Card’ issued to a rugby starling by the weak at the knees N.Z judicial system.

Weekly meetings to be held at 7’s Bar?

Nothing positive has come out of this sorry affair.

The victims have not received justice.

Still N.Z Rugby fans can rejoice whilst at the same time the public shakes their heads and hope they are not on the receiving end of a similar beating from a street thug like Losi Filipo.

Odds on Filipo will appear somewhere on the field once his token sentence has been completed.

He'll be able to continue to taunt his victims.

That’s the way it works in New Zealand.

Gregor Paul and his fellow journalists are little more than sock puppets of the N.Z Rugby Union

“Statistical reality that professional rugby, so heavily populated by young men, is going to incur such incidents”

Gregor Paul in his 21st Oct 2016 N.Z Herald article perpetrates the contemptuous crap that comes from the N.Z Rugby Union - that offending by professional rugby players is endemic of society.

Seriously if males in N.Z acted like professional rugby players we’d be looking at Soweto as a relatively safe holiday destination.

Proving this claim by Paul and his puppet-masters is a falsehood is easy.

Anyone with access to Google can do so.

Perhaps Paul should Google ‘google’?

Let’s compare the conduct of N.Z professional rugby players with say N.Z professional soccer/football players and see what results we get.

Remembering in just the last few weeks on the rugby side of the ledger we’ve had:

A player caught wanking in front of kids

One up for attempted rape

One let-off for a vicious assault

Of the later Filipo assault Steve Spew Tew also wanted us to believe 'it was a reflection of greater society'.

Let's examine this claim along with NASA faking the moon landings.

Kiwi soccer players are littered about the globe.

They earn good money & have the same temptations as say their rugby compatriots.

It's a fair comparison.

According to fiction writer Gregor Paul and arch-apologist Tew statistically they’ll be in the news for all the wrong reasons at the same level of the bell curve as rugby.

Yet, the only return on the search “New Zealand footballer arrested” I got were cases of cardiac arrest.

What about “New Zealand soccer player arrested”?

Nothing in the first four pages, unless you count incidents of overseas players.

I tried a broad search under Google NZ for “Soccer player drunk” and also struck out.

A repeat of before, not one return in the first four pages.

Soccer player charged”?

 Zip.

The very same demographic as rugby players, yet not one has come to the attention of not just the New Zealand media, but global media as well.

If one of the Kiwi soccer squad faced criminal charges in the country they played-in professionally this would soon be news back in their homeland.

Paul and his fellow sycophants would be all over a juicy story like a rabid hyena.

Probably have a headline ‘See I told you it wasn’t just Rugby Players’

So why don’t N.Z Journalists report the disturbing level of criminality amongst professional rugby players that is way out of proportion to any other demographic?

They are pussies.

Post a highly critical article on rugby and you’ll risk being blacklisted.

New Zealand journalists like Gregor Paul are scared to tell the truth about New Zealand rugby least their biggest source of ‘click bait’ is pulled from underneath their feet.

Paul himself would be out of the 'stocking filler' rugby book for Christmas business pronto and he knows it.

What masquerades as investigative journalism in New Zealand end-up being little better than NZRFU media releases.

Australian coach Michael Cheika isn't afraid to highlight the collusion between the N.Z Herald and N.Z Rugby Union.

So we end-up with articles that are so wildly inaccurate they actually insult other sportsmen by falsely asserting by default their chosen sport engages in the same sort of criminality as rugby players.

They don’t.

That’s a fact not fiction.

Will Dillon Halaholo be the first topic on N.Z Rugby’s new ‘Cultural Change’ panel’s agenda?

As if an attempted rape charge wasn’t enough for a N.Z Rugby to handle in the one-day.

We now hear that Southland Stags rugby player Dillon Halaholo was sentenced to 18 months' intensive supervision after admitting three charges of masturbating in a public place, twice in front of young girls.

How young?

Just 6, 9 and 10.

What a sick fucker.

Congratulations to the Invercargill judge in this case, Christina Cook, who weighed-up the victim’s rights versus that of a dirty sex fiend that got his jolly’s from wanking in front of kids.

Dillon Halaholo’s lawyers attempt to play the ‘it will harm his career and travel prospects’ were rejected.

Good thing too, long overdue.

Coincidentally today – the same day we have two sexual abuse cases in the news – we hear flimflam emanating from N.Z Rugby H.Q that they are setting-up a cultural change panel.

This tokenistic panel will include women, probably after they’ve got their gears off and done the dishes.

In particular this panel will be looking at the sport's attitude toward women.

You can’t make this sort of shit up.

Can't they read todays headlines?

Rugby player convicted for indecent acts

NZR aware of Mid Canterbury rugby player on rape charge

We already know the attitude.

It's one of contempt, zero respect.

I mean far be it for N.Z Rugby to let a bimbo actually get on the NZR Board.

If they are looking for panel members what about asking the mothers of the kids from Southland?

I'm sure they would be keen to have their say.

Rugby’s image in N.Z is now in tatters but that won’t change a thing

Being the biggest ape in the jungle rugby followers in New Zealand have a supercilious, contemptuous view of rival football codes.

Soccer is for poofters.

League is for inhabitants of State Houses.

So where are the high-profile soccer players facing charges of intent to rape guys?

Refer latest report about a Mid Canterbury rugby player.

There are heaps of soccer players plying their trade overseas.

Surely some of them get up-to mischief?

Evidently not.

Certainly not to the level of rugby players in N.Z.

Rugby’s image is now in tatters, going down the tubes sordid incident by sordid incident.

The public is finally waking-up to the high rates of criminality associated with rugby in New Zealand.

This site is littered with them.

Of course there will always be an element of Kiwis who will defend the indefensible.

Most of them are buffoons and gravitate to fellow buffoons for solace.

The more-staunch ones join rugby-club committees.

They honestly don’t care as long as the precious All Blacks keep winning and it’s not their daughter or son assaulted by a profile rugby player.

The sports image is paramount.

The victims are just collateral, worthy only of token apologies.

Rugby buffoons chortle away and run-down sports like League whilst ignoring the bleeding obvious.

Rugby culture is to blame for the issues the sport faces.

Other sports don’t have these problems to the same degree.

And there’s no way that’s going to change under the current regime, regardless of what the public think.

Aaron Smith Spreads the All Black Kulture all up the toilet wall

For the record what Aaron Smith gets up-to in his own time is his own business.

He only has to answer to himself and his family for his conduct.

But this loo-shagging incident wasn’t on his watch.

He was representing his sport at the time.

In the public domain.

Yet again (starts to yawn, think about grabbing a coffee) All Black management were questioned about this incident before it became more than internet gossip and they did what they normally do: wait and hope it goes away.

This all took place on September the 18th after-all.

Half if not all the team knew what went on within minutes.

Kiwi’s hear ad nauseum about The All Black culture as if it was something to aspire to.

This team is world-beaters, not because rugby is secondary sport in many countries, but because of this special culture.

Well Aaron Smith is currently doing a brilliant job of spreading this culture globally.

Still, it can't be said that Aaron isn't one not to spread his love.

Just ask the cleaners at Christchurch Airport.

Is it time to boycott Wellington Rugby's Sponsors?

If the Losi Filipo case disturbs you as much as it does me.

There is an avenue to show your displeasure.

These are Wellington Rugby's Sponsors:

STONEWOOD HOMES
RUTHERFORD & BOND TOYOTA
BLK CLOTHING
TUI BEER
VALENTINES PETONE
THE GREEN MAN
RYDGES HOTELS
RADIO SPORT
SUPERCOLOUR
VODAFONE
MP MUSCLE PHARM
LES MILLS
POWERADE
RYOS
VICTORIA UNIVERSITY
THE DOMINION POST

Wellington Rugby still have the chance to cut this street thug loose.

Do what they should have done when the case first came to light, Filipo admitted his role.

Till then it's up to the public to make discerning consumer decisions based on what they feel is the right thing to do.

Read what the mothers of Filipo's victims have to say.

"The horrific state of how they were left - they were left for dead,"

"Goodness knows what if the police hadn't intervened - I don't think our children would be alive today."

"The severity of the concussion could have long-term effects. He could easily have the early onset of Alzheimer's, and that kind of thing. This is huge. This isn't just a minor punch."

I wiped Radio Sport from my pre-sets about an hour ago.

PS: There's going to be a protest outside the next home game on Friday night (30th Sept) Details are on Facebook apparently. I hope they get a decent turn-out.

The Losi Filipo Case makes me sick

Go on admit it.

The two tares are firmly established.

Rugby stars and other Joe Bloggs.

Why dare and highlight something that all N.Zers know is the truth?

Most Kiwis are happy to sweep this under the carpet as long as it’s not them or their mates/family that’s on the receiving end.

I’m talking about rugby ‘stars’ like scum-bag Wellington Lions player Losi Filipo

It is unquestionable that (a.) High profile rugby players in N.Z are involved in a disproportionate level of criminality versus the same demographic. Just check out the pages of this blog which is by no means the definitive list. (b.) High profile rugby players in N.Z get lighter sentences when they appear in court using the ‘defence’ a conviction would affect a career in rugby.

So even if you plead guilty to:

·         Assault with intent to injure

·         Two counts of male assaults female

·         Injures with intent to injure

All crimes which carry prison sentences - you’ll likely get discharged without conviction.

This site is littered with similar cases.

The Filipo case is no aberration.

To quote the judge the street thug “(Filipo)Should be able to fulfil his potential”

Fuck the innocent parties.

Filipo’s rugby career comes before the justice society, via the Police, sort and deserved.

In a sad irony one of the innocent victims, Greg Morgan, was a rugby player himself, required 8 months off work after the vicious unprovoked attack.

Morgan was left high & dry by Wellington Rugby Union despite the fact he can no longer play contact sport again.

The Wellington Rugby Union instead backed 'their' man, giving him a reference.

As did the Upper Hutt Major Wayne Guppy!

Guppy and Wellington Rugby Chief Executive Steve Rogers clearly don't 'give a rats' that one of Filipos female victims requires plastic surgery.

Nor does Filipo apparently care.

Other than manufactured apologies.

To quote Stuff:

Hayden Williams, 22, another of Filipo's victims, saw the rugby player about a week after the court case while standing outside a bar in Wellington.

"He walked passed me and I asked him if he was still punching girls," says Williams. "He signalled out to his friends and two of them came over and yelled at me asking for a fight.

"Losi was laughing at me and kept saying he'd been through court. I felt like he was laughing that he'd been through court and got off."

Welcome to the N.Z (In)Justice system.

The Police must appeal.

Filipo needs to go behind bars.

Former Maori & Junior All Black found guilty after SFO investigation

Former Junior & Maori All Black Matene Love pleaded guilty to one charge under Section 4 of the Secret Commissions Act back on September 21 last year.

The reason why this charge, and his sentencing to six months' home detention, has only just surfaced is his father Sir Ngatata Love is currently up for similar charges.

Love junior accepting a secret commission from the same developer linked to his old man who is about to stand trial for defrauding the iwi his once was the leader of.

One presumes Matene no longer runs Maori business programme at Victoria University.

During the same period of his SFO investigation Love Jnr was the Rugby Development Office at Palmerston North Boys High.

Rugby Clubs and Schools love (pun intended) to laud the ‘exploits’ of their old-boys.

I’m more than happy to ‘put up in lights’ Matene Love also has links to: Manawatu, N.Z Maoris, Wanganui and let’s not forget Palmerston North HSOB for good measure.

They too can be proud.

Homophobic Slurs – A Normal Day in N.Z Rugby

Rugby is possibly the world’s most homophobic sport.

Most certainly the most homophobic sport in N.Z.

Little wonder the number of known gay All Blacks sits at zero.

Little wonder to read reports of homophobic slurs coming out of the mouths of leading players.

Probably not even newsworthy given it’s the norm in Michael Allardice’s sporting circles.

It's great the mainstream press is giving him stick but in reality it won't change rugby 'kulture' in New Zealand.

School’s National Championship 1st XV Coach Done for Assault

Robert Simpkins (a.k.a Robert Ngarimu) was a hooker for the Bay of Plenty Steamers NPC at one stage.

Let's not forget North Harbour and The Chiefs for good measure.

Since his retirement from the sport he’s now turned his hands, as in clenched, to coaching rugby.

To the highest level you can in N.Z Schoolboys.

He’s the coach of the current N.Z champs; Rotorua Boys High.

Well up-till last Friday that was.

Him and his old-man have just pled guilty to two charges of assault on a child under 14 and one charge of injuring to injure – if the later charge makes sense?

Far be it for moi to suggest this affair may well make him an even more a suitable candidate to coach rugby in this country.

The gory details can be located here.

Rene Ranger adds to AB’s illustrious history

Booze.

Drink Driving.

All Black.

Next I'll be blogging about it snowing in Russia during winter.

Troy Favell wants Kiwis to “Do as I say, not as I do”

Kiwis are very forgiving people.

We appreciate that people make mistakes.

Like former All Black Troy Favell who this week plead guilty to a count of driving with excess breath alcohol.

Hankies at the ready.

Favell wants the whole country to know "I made a terrible, disgusting mistake and an embarrassingly poor decision. Obviously my actions come with consequences and I want to take that on the chin and move forward from this. I want to urge young people to understand - don't get behind the wheel after drinking."

Not a dry eye in the court that day.

Only Troy forgot to mention in his pleading for forgiveness, that this is the second time he’s been caught DIC, the last time was 1995.

Do as I say not as I do.

Then there’s also the little matter of last time he appeared in court.

No not 1995.

In 2004 when he admitted assaulting a 23-year-old man.

His lawyer must love recidivist buffoons like him.

Ex All Black Destroys Image of all Kiwis in France

Hmmm?

Where have I heard those terms before in relation to a N.Z sportsman?

Give me a starter for 10.

Oh that’s right, now I remember!

And if one was to visit Byron Kelleher’s rugby themed pub in Toulouse – what would I expect in terms of a customer experience?

Punch bags with dresses?

Roman Vomitorium?

Hopefully it will be 3rd time unlucky with the French judiciary for Byron Kelleher.

His girlfriend won't need to 'fear his reprisals' knowing he's behind bars, facing deportation.

St Bede's College Rugby: A History of Violence and Abuse.

In a country where being the captain of the national rugby team bestows you the title of ‘New Zealander of The Year’ it will come as little surprise that secondary schools get all weak at the knees over the performance of their first fifteens.

More-ever secondary schools jump at the chance to publicise success of their rugby teams, even offering scholarships for top players, rather than say top mathematicians.

I mean who really cares about trifling matters like scholastic subjects?

So parading and lauding your top rugby players as being the epitome of what the school represents is the norm.

More-so single sex boy’s schools.

Like St Bede's College a private integrated Catholic boys-high school down in Christchurch.

If the school name sounds familiar think two litigious parents and that rowing coach the southern decile 9 so-called college left out to dry.

St Bede's Rugby has a history of serious off-field violence, controversy which ‘the wider Bedean’ family would rather was wiped under the carpet.

Beadeans as they gormlessly like to be known and the rugby community would rather prefer we knew just about their ex best-in-show All Blacks, sundry old-boys that have done good.

Not scum-bags who use to scrum down.

Diddums to that revisionist approach.

Not least the 2005 assault of the current rector by what was termed by The Christchurch Press at the time as; ‘two unknown mystery assailants.’

Really Rector Justin Boyle?

Hand on a St James bible?

Far be it for me to suggest these two thugs were ‘sporty-type’ ex pupils of Mr Boyle and the case stalled because of the ‘tarnishing’ scandal that would ensued had it gone to court and everyone knew how some St Bede's old-boys act.

Then there was the brutal assault by the former captain of the St Bede's first XV captain in 2010. A charge which was upgraded to injuring in circumstances where, if death had occurred, he would have been guilty of manslaughter.

A year later after losing to Wesley College (Pukekohe) members of the St Bede's First VX aided by fellow pupils engaged in on-line racial abuse.

Now we come to the latest case, involving Tyrone Davies a player St Bede's ironically poached from another South Island school.

Rugby junketing Davies is awaiting sentence in Ireland after admitting ‘glassing' a patron at a pub.

That’s right he smashed a broken glass into some poor Irish punters face.

Tyrone clearly benefited from the ‘core values’ instilled during his time at St Bede's College.

What a disgraceful legacy St Bedes has produced from its rugby ranks.

Yet another so-called ‘promising’ young rugby player walks free from a N.Z Court

At the back end of last year yet another young rugby thug walked free from a New Zealand Court after pleading guilty to assault.
Those familiar with the board-game Cluedo will solve this particular riddle quickly…
Rugby player
In the pub
Drunk late at night
In a fight
Tyrel Lomax is on the books of The Brumbies.

Seriously I don’t know why the N.Z Police bother to prosecute high profile rugby players given the Courts propensity to allow the guilty party to walk all-but free, time after time.
Discharged without conviction for assault.
It’s a waste of taxpayers money even charging them given they seemingly never get jail time, their societal standing protects them.
Search ‘One Rule for Rugby Players’ on this site for more examples of how the ‘O.J Simpson' Justice System works in New Zealand.

Ex Junior All Black and partner defraud IRD of close to a million

Former Junior All Black and Waikato lock John Williams and his partner, have admitted  charges relating to tax, GST and PAYE evasion by their company Stewart Drake International Ltd.

The company/couple ran the bar, JJ's @ On Tap in Taupo.

Stewart Drake International Ltd was put into liquidation in September last year.

Their offending stretched from April 1, 2008, to November 30, 2014, and totalled a hefty $911,311, inclusive of penalties.

Sentencing will be next month and a stretch in jail is not out of the question.

Promising young Plumber escapes conviction over Bar Assault

A promising young plumber with a "glittering career" ahead of him has avoided a conviction for punching a man who was at a bar with the tradesman ex-girlfriend.

In summing up the case the judge suggested “The information which is before me suggests that you have every opportunity to pursue a productive career, may-be even rising to owning your own plumbing and electrical contracting business if your development continues."

No not really.

A plumber facing an identical situation would in all likelihood face a fine or imprisonment.

Unlike Teariki Ben-Nicholas a plumber, government clerk, courier driver, panel-beater etc can’t possibly have ‘a glittering career’ in New Zealand.

These people never, ever travel overseas on their OE, work etc.

Just rugby players.

The Justice system in New Zealand is once again made to look on par with a Latin American Banana Republic.
