N.Z Rugby is Homophobic? You gotta be kidding me!

It’s early days on this 2nd alleged Cape Town incident The Crusaders players were involved-in over two weekends.

That’s right, the holy-than-though rugby franchise with a culture 2nd to none.

Two incidents in two weekends.

Good going, even by N.Z Rugby standards.

The security footage from McDonalds that night will prove or disprove whether this"physically intimidating" behaviour occurred as stated.

Or it’s just a selfie gone wrong?

If it’s the former, All Black George Bridge’s World Cup may be over before he puts his boots on.

It’s also nice to see how much support there is for the potential victim of the alleged incident.

N.Z Rugby fans have peppered his Instagram page with abuse!

That will hearten his resolve one thinks.

Boorish Drunken Behaviour from Crusaders & All Black player Richie Mo'unga in S.A

Boy oh boy, what a memorable tour The Crusaders have had to The Republic of S.A.

Read, what the local media terms as ‘Fresh Allegations’.

Inappropriate touching is a euphemistic term for groping.

Spitting beer at people?

Animalistic.

Surely, this can’t be a player from the rugby franchise which considers itself to have a sporting culture above even The Vatican’s Sunday Soccer team.

"I'm really sorry for that I'm not aware that I did that. Obviously was intoxicated and should've gone home long before that stage, I'm sorry to you and your friends and want to assure you I don't condone that behaviour and am sorry about that"

Now, is this the reply of someone facing a false allegation, simple case of mistaken identity?

N.Z Rugby players and management have made understatements like this into an art form.

They have the benefit of heaps of experience, I guess.

Should I mention that Richie Mo'unga is also an All Black?

Or, is that just taken as a given?

Here's a suggestion for the sport.

Why not instigate a Rugby Respect and Inclusion project?

Sean Maitland in front of a Scottish Court shortly

Former Crusaders wing Sean Maitland has been charged with assault in Glasgow, relating to a late-night kebab shop brawl the weekend prior which put a man in hospital.

Because his grandparents are Scottish Maitland is currently donning their badge of convenience.

His club, the laughably named Glasgow Warriors, are purportedly under-taking a disciplinary investigation which in rugby circles means staying nothing till the public forgets about it and never pay heed to the victim, a fellow professional rugby player.

Maitland joins a growing list of Crusaders (tip: search this blog for a sample) who have fallen foul of the law.

Crusaders CRFU Cover-up Drug Cheat

Back in June last year Fijian player Vilimoni Delasau failed a drug test after the match against the All Blacks which they lost 91 to zip.

He was fined $500 by the New Zealand Rugby Union kept in-house at the time.

Why the NZRFU, not Fijian RFU you might ask?

Well as some more knowledgeable readers may have spotted Vilimoni Delasau also plays on the wing for both Canterbury and The Crusaders.

Canterbury had a game scheduled the weekend after Delasau’s positive drug test.

So what did they do?

Rather than ‘fessing-up’ about their player using drugs the CRFU told their fans, press Delasau was unavailable due to an eye injury.

Crusaders want Guildford back!

Role-model N.Z Rugby player Zac Guildford’s days playing in N.Z may not be over!

I'm not making this up.

Yet another example of the adage that short of committing a mass-murder at a primary school, the NZRFU and individual unions don’t care what you get up to off the field.

This goes further to disprove the asinine belief in rugby circles concerning the fabled ‘Crusader Environment’.

It looks likely The Crusaders will now have two players with two assault cases each under their belts in their 2013 squad.

How do Crusader fans feel about a guy that whacks a mate asleep in bed?!

Harasses a female to the point she has to seek sanctuary in a shop from his drunken antics.

Punches an innocent bloke celebrating his 50th.

What about a prop that slaps his partner about?

Do the Crusaders fans, women in particular, want to cheer him along?

Jake Paringatai is a good fit in any rugby team

This is the Joseph Goebbelsesque bio on the Highlanders web site…

Jake Paringatai started his Super Rugby career with the Crusaders back in 2007 after making his domestic debut for Northland in the NPC back in 2003.  A hard-nosed loose forward, Paringatai has been plying his trade in the Japanese Top League over the past few seasons.  He will join a Highlanders forward pack that has plenty of experience and he will be a good fit for the men from the South.

There’s of course a gapping hole in this account of Paringatai’s rugby career.

Perhaps a reason why he went off overseas to ply his trade?

Back in 2009 the then-Crusader was found guilty of Sexual Assault.

That’s him in the photo leaving court.

His lawyer tried to paint a picture of a player no longer able to be a part of the New Zealand rugby scene.

A good fit for the men of the south?

I hope the WAG’s of the Highlanders wear something skimpy to after-matches.

Canterbury Rugby ignores props two assault convictions

On reflection Zac Guildford got a bum deal, either that or he had bad legal advice.

His lawyer should have whispered in the ear of Hamish Riach the following two words and then asked “What time does Todd want Zac at practice again?”

Those two words were “Paea Fa'anunu”

Back in 2011 Crusaders and Canterbury ITM prop Paea Fa'anunu was convicted of assaulting his partner.

But hey ‘slapping the mrs around’ is normal behaviour in rugby circles, that’s why he got just a $1,000 fine and if his lawyer is to be believed Canterbury Rugby supported him the whole hog.

What makes the Fa'anunu case more galling is at the time of his conviction he had just finished a sentence of supervision for a previous assault charge!

Finished anger management and alcohol counseling, which clearly was a waste of every-ones time, had zero worth.

The Probation Dept even said the Crusader had a poor commitment to community work.

Does this surprise anyone?

Clearly though enough commitment to be included in Blackadders 2013 squad.

Remember his name.

I’m confident we haven’t heard the last of this chap.

OH YES ZAC IS BACK IN TROUBLE

Just a few months after getting back on the turps, Zac ‘I can handle’ my piss’ Guildford is seemingly back to his old tricks

Think leopard and spots and you’ll get the gist.

Let’s be frank here the odds at the TAB were a scant $1:05 on the nose he would re-offend, little surprise in the weekends report.

Historically the NZRU and Crusaders management manipulated a gullible N.Z Media into believing their charge could be reined in.

They made Zac out to be redeemable, a victim of his fame.

They all said with the right environment redemption was possible.

After the shameful assaults in the Cook Islands Todd Blackadder and Hamish Riach acted like brooding hens.

The real victims were ignored, offered tickets to games!

The NZRU and Crusaders management’s stand in respect to Zac ‘I can handle my piss’ Guildford is now exposed for what it was all along - contemptible load of bull-shit!

These guys only care about their team, never the growing list of his victims.

My challenge to the NZRU in 2013 is for them to keep their employees fists to themselves.

Fat chance of this happening though.

GUILDFORD BACK ON THE PISS

Last year The New Zealand Rugby Union and Crusaders said they would will help Zac Guildford rather than tearing up his contract following alleged naked, drunken incidents in a Cook Islands bar and the harassing of a local female athlete [details and video]

This is not the first time recently we have had an All Black half naked in a Pacific Resort, blotto with booze, groping a young lady and assaulting innocent holiday-makers over the Christmas Holidays.

Just ask Robin Brooke

But back to Guildford.

Even prior to Rarotonga the Crusaders and former All Black winger had admitted to issues with alcohol after booze-fuelled incidents in Brisbane and Auckland.

His career on a knife-edge Guildford said he would get his drinking under control once and for all.

Vowed to give up the piss altogether.

Well at least till the end of 2012.

Place rugby and his family first.

This is Guildford ‘on the large’ at The Ellerslie Races on 6th November 2012.

Make your own conclusions as to his sincerity to give-up.

Take a guess at what punishment awaits him from Todd Blackadder.

Sweat FA.

By the way Zac’s uncle believes the Press and NZRU are always picking on his nephew who according to Daren Guildford acts just like other Kiwi’s his age, well at least the ones in his gene pool.
