South Canterbury Rugby Players are part of the problem not the solution

“The campaign does not suggest domestic and family violence are in any way directed or attributed to rugby players or rugby clubs, but instead recognised the influence of rugby in the community”

South Canterbury Rugby Football Union chief executive Craig Calder is taking the piss....right?!

Or at least so enamored, deluded with his beloved sport not to see the facts?

Think no-one in Timaru knows there’s an internet search engine called Google?

The donation of 10 phones will go anyway to mitigate the sad record rugby has in the community.

His community, the one that needs to address violence and it's his organisation that's some-how going to lead that change.

Like f*ck!

Perhaps he's forgotten that 13 months into his own tenure a former South Canterbury representative rugby player called John Junior Faavae  who was sentenced in the Timaru Court to two years and six months in jail.

His crime?

Indecent assault and attempted sexual violation by rape.

I guess that's not community violence in 'rugby speak'.

In 2013 four South Canterbury players faced allegations of rape, which were later dropped due to in-sufficient evidence.

But wait there’s more!

April of 2000 South Canterbury Player Kemipolo Tongotongo was found guilty of sexual violation by rape.

His lawyer proudly told the court at the time "He is a rugby player of some considerable talent"

"The South Canterbury Rugby Union went to a lot of trouble to bring him from Auckland to play for them."

Clean-up your own act Mr Calder.

Put your arrogance to one side and face the facts you can't influence what goes on in the wider community.

You can influence the paltry 25 odd semi-professional players you have under contract.

Former Southland Stags Player Done in Aussie Rape of Underage- Girl

Former Southland Stags rugby player Craig Wells has been sentenced this week, to six years' jail for the aggravated rape of a underage girl back in his homeland, Australia.

But sexual assault, like all the crimes perpetrated by high profile rugby players, are stereotypical of males of this age.

That's what we are told verbatim.

I mean it’s typical for 45 year olds to engage in sex with a 14 year old against their will - right?

It’s indicative of society as a whole, eh?

Never reflective of a rugby culture.

That’s why we are in week eight of 2017 and this site is already cocker-block with Kiwi pro rugby players in the courts.

Strangely, I never go short of articles despite contracts, external enquiries etc.

No such site similar to this could exist doing exposes on Kiwi soccer players or cyclists etc.

Despite those sports being far more global and involving a similar a high number of top athletes.

No one in the main-stream sycophantic media dares discussing the elephant in the room.

Least they lose their biggest source of click bait.

Reporting on rugby, minus the 'warts'.

Just humble old me.

There's no issues with N.Z Rugby, nothing worth highlighting...ahem.

Forget the victims.

Let’s instead rejoice in the fact a new Super Season is almost upon us.

Don't you go picking-on Southland NPC rapists.

Here's the vomit inducing article inclusive of his drunk driving escapades in his N.Z.

South Canterbury NPC rugby players accused of rape

Northland Police were in the early stages of an investigation into an alleged incident at a Whanganui motel early on Sunday, last weekend.

Allegations are two members of the South Canterbury rugby team raped a young woman in their team motel.

Rather than empathising with the alleged victim the eloquent coach of the team, Chester Scott, told media  "I'm not really in a good position to talk right now because I'm fucking gutted,"

"We've got a campaign [to run] and we don't need shit like this."

Sickening but typical.
